Papa Legba,Open the gates

Against the background of the beautiful red-orange sunset, set into the crystal-clear blue sky atop a hill, we captured this moment. Using a projector, the symbol of Legba was cast onto the face of the model. Legba, or Papa Legba, is a lwa/Spirit in Haitian Vodou culture. Legba is often depicted as an old man; however, this photograph does not depict Legba. It depicts one who calls on Papa Legba to "open the doors!" for them.
